All Summer Long
Now – September 30 at the U.S. National Whitewater Center
Live music takes place throughout the year at a one-of-a-kind outdoor venue in the middle of the world’s largest man-made whitewater river. Genres including roots rock, Americana, bluegrass, folk, and funk are featured on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.
Crossroads Cinema Outdoor Movie Series
Now – August 31 at Camp North End
Free outdoor movies are back at Camp North End this summer in partnership with Aurora Star Lit Cinema. On Thursday nights, grab your friends and family to watch some of the most iconic films of the 80s and 90s under the stars. Movies start at 8:30pm rain or shine.
Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes
Now – September 4 at Discovery Place
With key artifacts, interactive installations, infographics, and life-size statues of your favorite Super Heroes, this exhibition is the greatest in Marvel’s 80+ year history. See it all, from the iconic characters to the creators who’ve told the stories in the original comic books and in the big-screen blockbusters.
Now – August 13 at Carowinds
It’s Carowinds’ 50th anniversary and our local amusement park is celebrating with new rides, live shows, street parties, fireworks displays, and more. Whether you have been a Carowinds fan your whole life or you are experiencing the park for the first time, 50 Years of Carolina Fun is a must-see this summer.
Now – September 24 at Truist Field
Baseball season is in full swing so it’s the perfect time to cheer on our hometown team surrounded by the Charlotte skyline. Be sure to check the game schedule for special events and theme nights including Bark in the Park where your furry friends can attend the game and Thursday Thursdays filled with great drink specials.
24 Hours of Booty
July
July 2 at Bank of America Stadium
The biennial international men’s soccer championship of the North, Central American, and Caribbean region is coming to the Queen City. The two matches will consist of United States vs Nicaragua beginning at 7pm and Honduras taking on Haiti at 9pm. Soccer has become a beloved sport in Charlotte and the excitement hyped up even more after we gained our own MLS team, Charlotte FC. Hosting the Gold Cup firmly puts Charlotte on the international soccer stage and we are here for it!
Fourth of July Celebration
July 4 at Various Locations
Seeing fireworks is a July 4th tradition and Charlotte has you covered with various locations putting on a show:
- Skyshow at Truist Field
- Celebrate America Fireworks Show at Carowinds
- Celebrate America! at Symphony Park
July 4 – 16 at the Belk Theater
From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the microphone to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st-century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over! SIX won 23 awards in the 2021/2022 Broadway season, including the Tony Award® for Best Original Score (Music and Lyrics) and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical.
July 21 – 30 at Various Restaurants
Experience some of the best restaurants that Charlotte offers during Restaurant Week! Nearly 100 restaurants are expected to participate in this semi-annual event by offering 3 courses at dinner for a special prix fixe price. It’s a great way to explore new dining destinations and rediscover your favorite spots.
July 28 – 29 in Myers Park
Every year hundreds of bicycles take to the streets for 24 hours on the famous Booty Loop in Myers Park to raise money for local nonprofits such as Levine Cancer Institute, Levine Children’s Hospital, The Livestrong Foundation, and Queens University. If you aren’t planning on cycling, you can always join the crowds of fans who set up tents and celebration stations around the loop to cheer on the riders.

August
August 1 – 6 at the Belk Theater
All rise for Academy Award winner Aaron Sorkin’s adaptation of Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning masterwork. Considered one of the best novels of the twentieth century, To Kill a Mockingbird’s open-hearted dissection of justice and tolerance in the American South will be brought vividly to life on stage.
August 8 – 13 at the Belk Theater
This outrageous musical comedy and nine-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical follows the adventures of a mismatched pair of missionaries, sent halfway across the world to spread the Good Word. Do note that this show contains explicit language and is best suited for mature audiences.
Beyoncé Renaissance World Tour
August 9 at Bank of America Stadium
Queen Bey in the Queen City… need we say more? The concert is split into six acts, with Beyoncé performing the tracks of Renaissance in order, interspersed with songs from across her discography. It’s no surprise that the show has received critical acclaim, with particular praise for the production value and Beyoncé’s vocal performance.
