Heads up — Father’s Day is Sunday. If you haven’t made plans yet, don’t fret. There’s still time to come up with a great plan for the day (or a future date). Here are some of our favorite picks for celebrating dad in Charlotte:
Whether your dad likes to cook or not, Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen offers a class for every skill level. You can book a class for the whole family, or grab a gift card to let him choose one that suits his fancy. Classes cover a variety of topics and styles, from poultry and game bird butchery to a Roaring Riot tailgate tapas tasting.
Have a chill evening out at the ballgame. While the Knights are away on Father’s Day, you can still grab tickets to the Thursday game on June 20, complete with Thirsty Thursday specials to take advantage of. First pitch is at 7:04 p.m.
If your dad is a Star Wars fan, this Sunday’s Pops in the Park is the perfect way to spend Father’s Day. Get there early to grab a spot in the grass and don’t forget to grab your picnic basket. You can even pick one up already made from Reid’s Fine Foods. Get tickets ahead of time, or at the door.
For something a little less ordinary, plan an active afternoon in the Belmont neighborhood. Start with axe throwing at Axe Club of America. Rent a lane and take your shot at hitting the bullseye. Following axe throwing, head next door to Catawba Brewing for beverages and snacks. The brewery releases at least one new beer each week, so there’s plenty to sample.
