Red has been dominating fashion runways and red carpets recently so we are excited that the firey hue has also hit homes in a big way this year. We’re seeing a rich array of warm tones from burgundy and rust to terracotta and mauve. Whether you are a fan of a bold cherry red or prefer a more moody crimson color, there are plenty of ways to paint the town (or, in this case, the house) red.
Red is an emotionally intense color that symbolizes passion, strength, and confidence, making it a surefire way to inject drama into your space. In fact, some designers go as far as recommending a hit of red in every home. Is your living room feeling drab? Your bedroom a bit blah? Add something red. It’s called the “Unexpected Red Theory,” which essentially says that adding anything red, whether small or big, automatically makes the room look better regardless of the color scheme. In fact, it’s better if it doesn’t match according to the theory.
